About this grant

The Anti-Racism Action Program funds projects that address barriers to employment, justice, and social participation for Indigenous Peoples, racialized communities, and religious minorities. Eligible projects align with themes of employment, justice, or social participation, with priority for projects targeting online hate and digital literacy.

Who can apply

  • Canadian Indigenous organizations
  • Canadian not-for-profit organizations and associations
  • Non-federal Canadian public institutions (e.g., boards of education, schools, colleges, universities, chambers of commerce, law enforcement, hospitals)
  • Provincial, territorial, municipal and regional governments and their agencies

Who cannot apply

  • Organizations or individuals that espouse racist, antisemitic or other hateful content
  • Federal government institutions

Application process

  • Contact the Department of Canadian Heritage to discuss eligibility and receive an application package.
  • Read the Application Guidelines in full before applying.
  • Submit a complete application package including:
    • Anti-Racism Action Program Application Form
    • Balanced budget form (no surplus or deficit)
    • Most recent financial statements (audited if available)
    • Documents showing legal constitution, bylaws, and incorporation
    • Letters of support from project partners (if applicable)
  • Additional documents may be required depending on project nature.
