About this grant
The Neighbourhood Revitalization Macro-grant provides funding between $2,501 and $20,000 for community-led projects, initiatives, and events in designated Revitalization neighbourhoods in Edmonton. Eligible applicants include residents, local organizations, and businesses. Projects must align with Neighbourhood Revitalization Strategies and be open to the public at free or low cost.
Who can apply
- Organizations and associations formally registered in Alberta for at least one year, able to provide one year of financial statements.
- Businesses.
- Fiscal agents on behalf of ad hoc community groups and individuals.
- Projects must be located within and directly benefit one of the eligible Revitalization neighbourhoods: Balwin and Belvedere, Central McDougall/Queen Mary Park, Inglewood, or McCauley.
Who cannot apply
- Projects that are private or charge entrance fees to generate revenue (except cost recovery).
- Capital and infrastructure projects on City-owned or private property.
- Ongoing operating expenses (e.g., staff salaries, insurance, legal fees).
- Time and labour for preparing funding applications.
- Purchase of non-consumables for commercial use or private property.
- Projects completed or expenses incurred before application submission.
- Gift cards, gratuities, promotional items, prizes.
- Alcohol, cannabis, or associated items.
- Food and beverages exceeding 10% of budget.
- Food and beverages for City staff or paid employees.
- Projects already funded by other City grants.
Application process
- Prior to applying, contact the Neighbourhood Resource Coordinator to ensure alignment and verify eligibility.
- Review all Macro-grant application requirements.
- Ensure your organization is registered for an account through the Community Investment Grant Portal.
- Submit your application via the portal.
