About this grant
The Neighbourhood Revitalization Macro-grant provides funding from $2,501 to $20,000 for community-led projects, initiatives, and events in designated Revitalization neighbourhoods in Edmonton. Eligible applicants include organizations, businesses, and ad hoc groups with a fiscal agent. Projects must be open to the public, free or low-cost, and align with the goals of the applicable Neighbourhood Revitalization Strategy.
Who can apply
- Organizations and associations formally registered in Alberta for at least one year, able to provide one year of financial statements.
- Businesses.
- Fiscal agents on behalf of ad hoc community groups or individuals.
- Projects must be located within and directly benefit one of the eligible Revitalization neighbourhoods: Balwin, Belvedere, Central McDougall, Queen Mary Park, Inglewood, or McCauley.
Who cannot apply
- Private events or those charging entrance fees for revenue (cost recovery only allowed).
- Projects conflicting with the City Plan, ConnectEdmonton Strategy, or Neighbourhood Services Funding Program outcomes.
- Capital or infrastructure projects on City or private land.
- Ongoing operating expenses (e.g., staff salaries, insurance, rent).
- Time and labour for preparing funding applications.
- Purchase of non-consumables for commercial use or private property.
- Completed projects or expenses incurred before application submission.
- Gift cards, gratuities, promotional items, prizes, alcohol, cannabis.
- Food and beverages exceeding 10% of budget.
- Food and beverages for City staff or paid employees.
- Projects already funded by other City grants.
Application process
- Contact the Neighbourhood Resource Coordinator (NRC) to ensure alignment and verify eligibility.
- Review all Macro-grant application requirements.
- Register for an account through the Community Investment Grant Portal.
- Submit the application via the portal.
