About this grant
The Indigenous Relations Office Sponsorships provide funding for Indigenous-led initiatives that support healing, cultural revitalization, and address systemic inequalities. Eligible activities include awareness, addressing, resurgence, and advocacy aligned with the City's TRC and MMIR Action Plans. Funding is available for events held in the greater Edmonton area.
Who can apply
- Organizations registered for at least 1 year and in good standing with the incorporating body (Alberta Society, Non-profit Private Company, Non-Profit Public Company, Extra Provincial Non-profit Company, For-profit Company)
- Indigenous-Led Organizations
- Educational Institution
- Local grassroots group that has a fiscal agent meeting the above eligible category
- First Nations, Metis or Inuit Community
- Organizations must be located in the greater Edmonton area
- Applicants must be in good standing with the City of Edmonton (no outstanding reports or arrears)
Who cannot apply
- Applications sent via email will not be accepted
- Incomplete applications will not be considered
- Organizations not in good standing with the City of Edmonton
Application process
- Applications must be submitted through the Community Investment Grant Portal
- Log into your account or register for a new account
- Submit application during intake periods (Intake #2: April 1 - June 1, 2026)
- Applications are final once submitted; no changes allowed
- Notifications within 4-8 weeks
