About this grant
The Neighbourhood Connections Grant provides $500-$2500 for neighbourhood-wide events that build connections and collaborations. Eligible applicants include registered organizations, charities, and businesses in Edmonton. Events must be free or low-cost and serve a specific neighbourhood.
Who can apply
- Registered organizations: community leagues, condo boards, homeowner associations
- Registered charities
- Businesses and Business Improvement Areas (BIA's)
- Any association/organization formally registered in Alberta for at least 1 year, able to provide 1 year of financial statements
- Event organizers partnering with a fiscal agent (application must come from fiscal agent)
Who cannot apply
- Private events or events charging entrance fees for revenue (except cost recovery)
- Events conflicting with City Plan or not meeting program outcomes
- Capital/infrastructure projects or expenditures
- Ongoing operating expenses (staff salaries, insurance, legal/accounting fees, facility maintenance)
- Payment for preparation of funding application
- High-risk or illegal events
- Gift cards, gratuities, prizes
- Alcohol, cannabis or associated items
- Non-consumable expenses for commercial use or private property
- City-wide events not serving a specific neighbourhood
- Events with start date outside intake period
Application process
- Register for an account through the Community Investment Grant Portal
- Log in to see current funding opportunities
- Submit application during intake periods: March 1-April 1 or September 1-October 1
- Include most recent year-end financial statements, bank statement and bank reconciliation if internally audited
- Submit final report within 60 days of event completion
