About this grant

The Winter Together Grant provides up to $1,000 to non-profit organizations in Edmonton to celebrate neighbours helping neighbours during the winter season. Funds can be used for winter parties, incentives, prizes, and materials promoting community snow removal. The grant aims to foster communal responsibility and create a more accessible Winter City.

Who can apply

  • Registered non-profit organizations (including community leagues, charities, homeowners associations) in good standing with the City of Edmonton
  • Condo associations/homeowners associations incorporated under a provincial or federal act
  • Informal groups or individuals partnering with a registered not-for-profit as fiscal agent
  • Must benefit City of Edmonton residents

Who cannot apply

  • Initiatives or projects currently funded or pending funding from another City of Edmonton grant
  • Private projects charging entrance fees for revenue (except cost-recovery)
  • Projects conflicting with City Plan or not meeting at least one City Plan Outcome
  • Capital/infrastructure expenditures
  • Ongoing operating expenses (staff salaries, insurance, etc.)
  • Payment for funding application preparation
  • Contracted snow removal services
  • Completed projects or retroactive expenses
  • High-risk or illegal activities
  • Alcohol, cannabis, or associated items
  • Food/beverages for City staff or paid employees
  • Non-consumable expenses for commercial use
  • Facility rental expenses
  • Projects outside winter season (November-March)

Application process

  • Application intake was open from October 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026
  • Submit application via City of Edmonton's grant system

  • Accepted organizations sign and return Funding Award Letter
  • Funding is reimbursement-based; final report and paid invoices required within 1 month after end or by April 30, 2026
