Settlement, Integration and Language Projects Grants
The Settlement, Integration and Language Projects grants fund projects that strengthen the settlement, language and integration system for newcomers in Alberta. Two streams are available: Building Community Capacity (initiatives to help communities attract, welcome and retain newcomers) and Supporting Labour Market Attachment (training projects with a language component for underemployed or unemployed newcomers). Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, municipalities, post-secondary institutions, and social enterprises.

Anti-Racism Grant
Alberta's Anti-Racism Grant Program supports community organizations in Alberta to implement initiatives that combat discrimination and address systemic racism. Funding supports public education projects that help Albertans recognize and value cultural differences and heritage, and builds capacity within Indigenous and racialized communities. There are two funding streams: Stream 1 (up to $5,000) requires alignment with at least one outcome under either program objective; Stream 2 (up to $10,000) requires alignment with at least one outcome under both program objectives. In the 2025-26 intake, $508,930 was awarded to 59 community organizations.

Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant
The Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG) is an employer-driven program that partially reimburses employers for the cost of sending employees or unemployed Albertans for productivity-skills training. Employers apply on behalf of trainees. For existing employees, government covers 50% of eligible training costs up to $5,000 per employed trainee per fiscal year. For unemployed Albertans being hired and trained, up to 75% of costs are covered, up to $10,000 per trainee per fiscal year. An employer may receive up to $100,000 per fiscal year in total.

Supports for Newcomer Integration (SNI) Grants
The Supports for Newcomer Integration (SNI) grants help eligible organizations deliver settlement services, English language assessments, and flexible English language learning programs for newcomers living and working in Alberta. The program has THREE streams: Stream 1 funds settlement and community support services for a broad group including temporary workers and refugee claimants; Stream 2 funds language assessment and referral services mainly for permanent residents; and Stream 3 funds drop-in English as an Additional Language (EAL) classes primarily for permanent residents and naturalized citizens. NOTE: The program is currently CLOSED — no new Call for Proposals is being accepted. Existing agreements were extended to March 31, 2025. A new intake was expected in fall/winter 2024 but no new CFP has been announced as of the page's last update.
